“Sarawak Children Early Education Council will always ensure that the children being taken care of in every Taska and Tadika are safe.”

KUCHING: Members of the public are urged to report to the State Welfare Department (JKM) regarding unregistered Taska (pre-school) and Tadika (kindergarten).

This was pointed out by Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah (pic) to the media during a courtesy call from TM TEC Academy On Occupational Safety Health (OSH) Awareness For Preschools and Taska at Baitulmakmur Building, Petra Jaya near here, yesterday.

According to Fatimah, the department stressed on the registration of every Taska and Tadika operating in Sarawak to prevent any untoward incident.

“Tomorrow (today), we will go to Miri to officiate the registration process of Taska or Tadika in Sarawak to help the operators register their premises. To date, 20 Taska and Tadika have been registered.

“Sarawak Children Early Education Council will always ensure that the children being taken care of in every Taska and Tadika are safe,” she said.

Fatimah added that parents who send their children to Taska and Tadika need not worry too much about the safety of their children.

“In the past we have given our appreciation to registered Taska and Tadika such as plaques and certificates to show to the parents that the Taska or Tadika is either registered or not.

“The presentation of certificates is a recognition from JKM and I hope parents should not have any doubt of sending their children to a registered Taska and Tadika because their safety is guaranteed,” she said.

Fatimah also revealed that five agencies are involved in managing Taska and Tadika, namely Fire and Rescue Services Department (BOMBA), Health Department, Local Councils, Land and Survey Department and State Welfare Department.
