Fifteen finalists for inaugural Miss Ethnic Riverside on 15 July

KUCHING: Out of 25 participants who took part in the three categories of the inaugural Miss Ethnic Riverside; namely ‘Dayung Sangon Bidayuh’, ‘Kumang Iban’ and ‘Keligit Orang Ulu’ here recently, 15 were selected as finalists during the semi-final round held at Riverside Shopping Complex on Saturday.

The finalists or top five to vie for the Dayung Sangon Bidayuh are Natasha Anak Sunaan, Vanessa Tirella Anak Petrus, Padrona Anak Poli, Helen Mahes and Lorenna Lulong whereas the top five finalists vying for the ‘Kumang Iban’ are Viviana Lin Winston, Angelina Anie Angon, Shatinie, Marianne Jane Maria and Philomena Bretney.

Meanwhile vying for the Keligit Orang Ulu will be Melanie De Mensko, Jzjoanaskki Jugah, Allysia Thumbin Anak Anthony, Siti Nurfazzira Binti Abu Bakar and Hani Khairani Binti Majid.

During the semi-final round, Viviana Lin Winston, Helen Mahes, Lorenna Lulong, Melanie De Mensko, Allysia Thumbin Anak Anthony and Jzjoanaskki Enni Jugah each won the subsidiary titles for Miss Photogenic, Miss Popular and Miss Elegant, Beautiful Body, Miss Natural Beauty respectively. Prize presentations were done by Caroline Kueh (1st Runner Up Miss Sarawak Ethnic National Queen 2016),  Shastaclaire Drickerson (Winner Miss Harvest 2017), Marie Alexander (Winner Dayung Pimaguh Siburan 2017 ) and  Enette Faith (Winner Miss Sarawak Earth 2017).They were judged by Priscilla Hyginus, Alice Stephen, Wagner John,Juliet Malek,Bridget Bulan Taja and Michualla Maddy.

The finalists will compete for the grand title for each category at the grand finale to be held at Riverside Shopping Complex this coming Saturday 15 July starting from 12pm onwards.

The competition organised by Riverside Shopping Complex and co-organised by Persatuan Warisan Bumi Kenyalang Kuching is open to all ladies aged 13 to 18 years from any race in Malaysia as part of Gawai Festival 2017.
