KUCHING: Sixty-nine mosques, Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) and Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) groups in the Petra Jaya and Pending constituencies will benefit from this year’s Hari Raya Haji as they will be receiving financial contributions.

This was revealed during the handing over of sacrificial cow by Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof at Restoran Mirchi Spices, Jalan Astana here, yesterday.

During the function Fadillah urged the younger generation to use technology for a brighter future.

“The usage of Internet now will give a huge impact to our lives. For example, the decreasing use of taxi due to the advancement in technology through apps like ‘Uber’,” he said.

The minister added that Malaysia is ranked third in the world in the use of information technology and that it can make a nation more developed in a digital economy.

“It can be said that for every citizen in this country, he or she usually has two to three smartphones.

“Therefore, we must be able to fully utilise smartphones to expand businesses and communication,” Fadillah pointed out.
