MIRI: The quick action and response from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) prevented fire from spreading and engulfing the whole house in Taman Jelita here yesterday.

Bomba Miri Zone chief, Law Poh Kiong said seven personnel from Miri fire station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 2.23pm.

“Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that the mattress and furniture in one of the rooms had caught fire. The flames were put out at 3.15pm,” he said.

Law said no injuries and casualties were reported in the incident and the estimated loss and actual cause of fire were still under investigation.
