MARUDI: A vehicle from Marudi Hospital which was bringing a heavily pregnant 34-year-old woman to Miri Hospital Tuesday was involved in an accident at KM16, Jalan Miri-Marudi at 4pm on Tuesday. Three others were also in the vehicle namely, the driver, a doctor and a nurse.
Baram police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut who confirmed the incident said the driver had lost control of the vehicle before the incident happened.
Fortunately, all the victims sustained only minor injuries and were taken to Miri Hospital for treatment.
The New Sarawak Tribune was made to understand that the woman has given birth safely at Miri Hospital.
DSP Gabriel added that a team from Marudi traffic police has been deployed to the scene to investigate.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
