KUCHING: Four developers were ordered to compensate five house and apartment buyers yesterday involving a total amount of RM38,796.91.
In the first case, a developer was asked to compensate Julia Anak Ahsim a sum of RM9,200 for late delivery of her house by 24 months.
In the second case, the same developer was also asked to pay Chieng Ai Yung a sum of RM6,223.40 for late delivery of her house. In the third case, the Sarawak House Buyers Claim Tribunal also ordered a developer to compensate Hishamuddin Bin Siri and Hafiza Binti Mohd Naim a sum of RM9,600 for late delivery of their house.
In the fourth case, a developer was ordered to compensate Muyan Anak Alu and Victoria Anak Alli a sum of RM8,000 also for late delivery.
The fifth case was on the late delivery of an apartment purchased by Loy How Meng and Lee Pheh Hua. The Tribunal ordered their developer to compensate them a sum of RM5,773.51.
Sarawak House Buyers Claim Tribunal’s deputy chairman Peter Lim Thiam Seng who presided over the cases yesterday ordered the developers to pay the compensation within 30 days of hearing and any defects have to be done within 45 days from the date of hearing.
Two other panel members hearing the cases together with Lim yesterday were Trabawan Ak. Mandi and Robert Elone Ak. Sireng.
