KOTA SAMARAHAN: National development will increase by four per cent when corruption cases are reduced by one per cent.

This was said by Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip during the officiation of the Penangguhan Kembara Jelajah Anti Rasuah (KEJAR) ceremony which was held at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Tunku Abdul Razak (IPGTAR) here on Thursday.

Talib said that the statistics, which were retrieved from the World Bank Group, revealed how much of a negative impact corruption has on the community as well as the nation.

“Therefore, countries with a high rate of corruption will cause its people to migrate to other countries for employment opportunities,” he said.

Talib also said that the Chief Minister had planned various development projects in the state and that any form of corruption that could hinder these projects would not be tolerated.

“That is why my ministry is formed as it shows the government’s commitment in fighting corruption by giving our full support to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC),” he said.
