KUCHING: Four teams will be in action in the semifinals of Serian-LSC 2017 Football League which kicks off on Sept 23.

The four teams namely, Project Team, Buserec 23, MARR SC and MSS PSKPP will compete to qualify for the final which will be held sometime in October.

The league was a part of ‘Divisions of Sarawak League 2017’ which involved football associations in the state.

The handing over of sponsorship from Lea Sports Centre (LSC) to Serian Division Football Association (Serian FA) was done by managing director of Lea Group of Companies Raymond Sim to Bukit Semuja Assemblyman, who is the advisor of Serian FA John Ilus at Lea Sports Centre in Sarawak Plaza near here, yesterday.

The tournament started on July 30 held at Serian Sports Complex with the participation of 10 teams- Project Team, Buserec 23, MARR SC, MSS PSKPP, Tings FC, Semeran FC, Taee Union, Young Marr, K.M.S and KRM Junior.

The tournament is held in collaboration with Serian FA and Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) with LSC as the main sponsor.

LSC is sponsoring trophies, medals and vouchers for the champions, first runners-up, second runners-up and fourth placing, as well as the Challenge Trophy.

Trophies will also be given to the top scorer, best player and the Fair Play team.

Meanwhile, according to Raymond Sim, the support of LSC to the organisation of local football competitions started since 1994.
