KUCHING: Sarawak commercial crime police are looking for one Eileen Then, aged 29, who may be able to assist them in a fraud case involving the purchase of wood from China.

Head of Commercial Crime Sarawak Supt. Mustafa Kamal said a 53-year-old victim claimed he was cheated of RM15,342 in the case which occurred between December 15 last year and February 12 this year.

The victim was told by the suspect that her boss sells sandalwood and to purchase it, he needed to give 70 per cent of the payment which was RM11,792.

He was told that the goods would arrive from China in 55 days. On the 45th day, the suspect told him that the wood had arrived at Kuching Port and asked him to pay RM10,000, which he did.

The goods never arrived and when he asked the woman about it, she said her boss had died in a car accident. So he kept pestering her to return the money but she returned only RM5,000.
