Gawai gifts for 10 poor families

KUCHING: In conjunction with the forthcoming Gawai Dayak celebration, Qurina Sdn. Bhd and Howdy Grillhouse Sdn. Bhd have given free food items to 10 needy families.

Led by manager Welly Kwok and accompanied by Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan and volunteers, the employees of the two companies recently handed over the items to the recipients.

Hope Place is an Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) which visits the poor and less fortunate families to distribute donated items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, biscuits, and noodles to them.

For families with children who have special needs, or have elderly or disabled in their homes, Hope Place provides milk powder, cereal dinks and pampers.

Hope Place has 170 needy families under its care.
