KUCHING: GetFood, the latest mobile application technology for food services developed by Sarawakians, is now available. The mobile application that offers cashless delivery services and reviews have come out with another new feature called the new ‘dine in’ ordering feature. Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, said the application that features delivery, review, cashless payment, and dine in is a truly amazing home-grown Sarawak application.

“I am also proud that the co-founder Joe Koh will expand the app’s usage to other parts of the country,” he said during the GetFood application official launching ceremony at Vivacity Megamall here, yesterday. He added that the spirit shown by Joe shows that Sarawakians can do something if they try. “This is what an entrepreneur does and I do encourage our Sarawakians to expand beyond our home,” he said. Meanwhile, Koh said they have been working with merchants (partnering cafés and restaurants) to understand what would help to digitalise their businesses.

“Our mission is not only to bring convenience to users, but to also provide the best food ordering and delivery experience,” said Koh. He shared that currently, GetFood already has a few thousand active users in Kuching.

“We will reach out to more cities in Sarawak very soon and we welcome more restaurants to join us on board to connect the food they serve with the people in the cities. “Our goal is to become the one app people think about whenever they think about food,” he pointed out.

The mobile application is developed by WAHH Innovations, a technology company based in and under the mentoring of iCube Innovation. With a passion for food and an aim to connect customers with food varieties, availability and accessibility, the start-up company created a holistic app to transform the food and beverage (F&B) industry.

After its soft launch merely months ago, GetFood has partnered with more than 100 partnering cafés and restaurants with a minimum RM2 delivery charge, which GetFood promises that it would be delivered within half an hour. The new GetFood ‘dine-in’ ordering feature allows users to easily browse through a merchant partner’s menu simply by scanning a QR Code at their table, ordering their food, and selecting their preferred choice of payment method; all through one app for a seamless dining experience. As part of the grand launch, GetFood is offering free delivery with no minimum order amount; users simply have to enter the promo code ‘VIVALAUNCH’ at the checkout page.
