Hasidah warns public about currency using TYT image

KUCHING: Printing and selling such counterfeit bills using Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud image and state government logo is legally wrong, said State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Assistant Minister, Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

“This is ridiculous and something that is despicable, totally wrong and cannot be accepted by our government,”Hasidah said when asked by reporters at Grand Margherita Hotel, here yesterday about the currency that have been sold in an e-commerce site.

She added that it was her first time seeing such matter and commented on it as being done with bad intention.

“I am sad to see this kind of thing happening now and we will look into this matter and make investigation,” she stressed.

Meanwhile, Hasidah also said that the state will file in their appeal against the Kuching High Court’s decision to reinstate Dr Ting Tiong Choon as the Pujut state assemblyman this week, before 17 July, 2017.

“The notice of appeal will be filed in by the State Attorney General (AG), Talat Mahmood Abdul Rashid,” she added.
