HEART DAY RUN RAISES RM375,000

KUCHING: A total of RM375,000 was raised from the Heart Run 2017 held in conjunction with the Sarawak Heart Day celebration yesterday at the the Old State Legislative Assembly (DUN). 3,000 participants, the biggest number ever, were involved in this year’s run organised by the Sarawak Heart Foundation (SHF). Gracing the event was SHF trustee and the Sarawak Heart Day chairwoman, Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu.

In her speech, she revealed that yesterday was also the 20th anniversary of SHF. “The weather is very beautiful today and I hope that everyone will have a wonderful time here,” said Jamilah.

During the event, there were also free health screening, free fitness tests and dissemination of information on heart diseases at the foyer of the Old DUN. All registered participants were entitled to win prizes totalling RM20,000 in a lucky draw. The prizes included Mydin shopping vouchers, a ViVO Smartphone, a holiday for two to Bangkok by Malindo Airlines and many more.
