BINTANGOR: The Helang Biru team from Saratok lived up to expectations to emerge champions of the tug-ofwar competition held in conjunction with ‘Pesta Limau Bintangor’ 2017 on last weekend.
The Helang Biru team were unbeatable when they defeated Helang Hitam team also from Saratok in a dramatic final. Helang Biru team manager, Fadli Othman said he was proud of his team’s performances and their enthusiasm in winning the championship.
“We are so excited to go to the final and win the competition and will continue to defend the title in the next tournament as we have won three consecutive titles for this season,” he added.
Fadli added that Blue Helang team have just won the state-level tug-ofwar competition held in conjunction with the Sematan Festival 2017 held at Pantai Abang Amin, Sematan. With the win, the Helang Biru team took home a cash prize of RM500, a championship trophy, an accompanying trophy and medals.
The Helang Hitam team received a cash prize of RM300, a trophy and medals. Meanwhile the Persatuan Wanita Bintangor team were third to win a cash prize of RM200, a trophy and medals. KRT Bintangor Utara team won a cash prize of RM100, a trophy and medals as fourth place winners.
A total of six teams participated in the championship held at the Meradong District Council Field. Daro Assemblyman, Safiee Ahmad gave away the prizes.
