Help children in their studies, parents told

KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) general manager Datuk Soedirman Aini said children must be facilitated in their studies.

  Soedirman who is Sedidik Sdn Bhd board of directors chairman said it was the duty of parents and teachers to enable children get the best in education.

He pointed this out when officiating at a graduation ceremony for 36 preschool children of Sedidik Perdana Kuching Zone held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here yesterday.

The children were from six preschool centres namely Sedidik Perdana Kuching, Sedidik Perdana Pending, Sedidik Perdana Samariang, Sedidik Perdana UTC, Sedidik Perdana SEDC Club House, and Sedidik Perdana Maritime.

“Congratulations to the children. This is a first step and preparation for them before they begin their formal education.

“We all know that children have the right to education. Hence, parents must be supportive to the school’s management by contributing their ideas and share their knowledge and skills for the betterment of the school and their children.

“Teachers must also be responsible and provide conducive learning environment for their students,” he said.

The ceremony was enlivened with stage performances by the preschool children and a fashion show together with their parents.

Also present was Sedidik’s general manager, Nor Ashikin Abdul Rahman.
