KUCHING: A mother of four children and also a parent of a stateless child who was a victim of a hit and run accident received the attention of Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who paid her a visit to give moral support and encouragement.

Lo said he was sad to note that there are still many callous people around who fled the scene after an accident with no thought for the victim.

He said the right thing to do in an accident is to stop and called an ambulance as sometimes swift actions can save lives.

He also urged those who witnessed the accident along Sg Moyan, Jalan Batu Kawa at about 7.30am on 30 January to WhatsApp him so that the motorist involved in the hit and run accident could pay the victim accordingly for her sufferings.

“The accident caused the victim to suffer from a broken knee cap and fractured leg which rendered her unable to look after her children. The victim, known only as Madam Yati said that she may have to stay in hospital until after Chinese New Year,” Lo said.
