KUCHING: A fire that razed a wooden house at Mile 10 Matang yesterday caused the 62-year old house owner to have her right hand and cheek burned.
She was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment. The victim was trying to salvage her belongings in the afternoon fire which completely destroyed the house.
Fire and Rescue Ser vices Department received a distressed call at 1.56 pm and thereafter Batu Lintang and Petra Jaya fire engines rushed to the scene to control it from spreading. It was believed that the house was under renovation. Firemen are investigating the cause and losses in the fire.
