KUCHING: A married Indian national who came to Sarawak three years ago was found hanged by his colleague in a rented room near a construction site at Kota Sentosa, seven miles from here on Tuesday evening.

Salmidu Syekh, 32, was found at 6 pm after his roommate broke down the door to the bedroom they shared.

According to the roommate, Salmidu told another colleague that he was unhappy because of family problems in India.

Salmidu’s fellow workers saw him going to a construction site as usual at 2 pm and by 5 pm he returned to their rented rooms where he was found hanged at 6 pm.

Salmidu’s remains were later taken to Sarawak General Hospital’s morgue for a post mortem.

Police are still investigating the case.
