SERIAN: The 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (11RAMD) arrested an Indonesian man with 27 pieces of sawn timber beams and planks which he intended to smuggle out of the country.

The arrest was made by a team from 11RAMD during a patrol at a private estate in Kampung Sungai Pauh, Serian on Wednesday evening.

During the patrol, at around 6.30pm the team found an Indonesian man transporting the timber beams and planks using a motorcycle at a location about 200 metres from the Malaysia-Indonesia border.

The team then nabbed the Indonesian man and the timber beams and planks worth approximately RM3,500.

The suspect and seized beams and planks were brought to Serian Police Station for the police to take further actions.
