TEMERLOH: The second day of school for pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Mentakab (Chatin) here was made lively when they were received by a person dressed as the Avenger comic superhero Iron man.

Many, especially year one and pre-school pupils, who were initially down in the dumps, immediately became excited and called out to “Iron Man” and did not miss out on the opportunity to take pictures with him and shook his hand.

Headmaster Suhaime Nahari said the surprise, under the loving teacher programme, impacted very effectively on year one pupils who were afraid to go to school.

“We take this initiative so that they will be motivated and in high spirit to attend school. As a result, no pupil was crying or moody even though they had to get up early to start school.

“This start can also prompt the pupils to enjoy themselves and turn the school into their second home daily. They will also be happy to study and meet new friends,” he said when met by Bernama here.

He said the initiative was in line with the effort to realise the aspiration of the Ministry of Education to instil noble values in teachers, pupils and Parent-Teacher Association. – Bernama
