KUCHING: Experience owned by Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) team turned out to be the hurdle for Sarawak to register their first win the Super League at the Stadium Negeri here, Tuesday night.

Sarawak head coach, David Usop said the quality and experience of JDT players were hard to match by any team in the league.

“We can see how the experienced JDT squad dominated the whole match and it was very difficult to outrival their performance.

“However, I am actually happy because Sarawak players are still able to compete and almost scored a goal but luck was not with us,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

David added that JDT, led by Safiq Rahim dominated the midfield so well that Sarawak players were at a loss to fend off their attacks.

According to David, the situation also caused fatigue because his players had to run everywhere but failed to get the passes.

“For me, that’s a distinction that was difficult to offset by us,” he said while commending the referee.

“The Crocs did play with an indomitable spirit until the final whistle. I admit several players failed to perform Tuesday night, but they did not give up,” David commended Sarawak’s never-say-die attitude.
