KUCHING: Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg officiially launched Saradise Kuching, Sarawak’s first integrated lifestyle township located near BDC Stampin here, on Monday night.

The entire township, featuring components such as Sarawakthemed gardens, food-street, healthcare cluster, office towers, grocer in a garden, luxury landed residences and serviced apartments, is slated to take more than 10 years to construct. 20 per cent of the entire development will be landscaped. Every component in the development is designed for walkability and residences and businesses will be linked up by a lifestyle app for convenience and provide a marketplace for entrepreneurs.

The development will be outfitted with fibre optics for the fastest possible internet speed access. Phase 1, comprising 132 units of uniquely designed shop offices, was completed in August this year .

Strategically located in the heart of Kuching just 5 minutes from Kuching International Airport and accessible through Jalan Stutong and Jalan Stutong Baru, it is also a mere 15 minutes’ drive to the city centre. Saradise Kuching also aims to be the platform to showcase the best of Sarawak and promote Sarawak Innovation.

Also launched on Monday evening was the 2,000sq ft Saradise Innovation Space which will feature a Makers Space and an advanced Robotics programme where local innovators will educate young Sarawakians on how to leverage disruptive technologies and approaches to drive their business. Saradise Kuching will also highlight a new food street concept targeted at the millennials called Saradise Edge which will open in 2018.

It will feature an iconic three-storey container-like design nestled in a garden concept that is inspired by Sarawak’s ecology. Saradise has an art gallery called Saradise Gallery, a 10,000 sq ft space which features work by renowned Sarawakian artists.

These initiatives will be further integrated into Saradise Kuching in 2018. Saradise is targeting to launch the 33-acre residential precinct with landed and high-rise properties in 2018.
