Johari, wife visit Uggah’s Gawai open house

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg visited the Gawai open house hosted by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas last Tuesday night at his residence in Taman BDC Stampin.

Also joining Johari during the Gawai open house visit was his wife, Datin Amar Dato Hajah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang. 

Among those present during the open house were Minister of Local Government and Housing, Senator Professor Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian and wife;  State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani;  Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong; Minister of Rural Electricity and Water Supply Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah,  assistant ministers and other people’s representatives and distinguished guests.

The guests were entertained with traditional dances and music courtesy of the Dayak Cultural Foundation (DCF).

Various local and Dayak traditional dishes and cuisines were prepared for guests not to mention plenty of traditional Iban Gawai pancakes and biscuits during the open house.
