KUCHING, 22 Nov — Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak bersalaman dengan Presiden Indonesia Joko Widodo selepas Perundingan Tahunan Malaysia-Indonesia Ke-12 hari ini. Najib dan Joko mengetuai delegasi negara masing-masing.

KUCHING: The Indones ian Government plans to establish 50 Community Learning Centres (CLC) in Sarawak by June 2018. Its President, Ir. Joko Widodo said that the matter has been agreed between him and the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

Currently there are 19 CLCs in Sarawak. In his speech during the ‘Temu Kangen Presiden Indonesia’ at Stadium Perpaduan, he stressed that CLCs are important for the education of Indonesian children.

“Our children are the future of Indonesia. Despite being away from our country, education maintains as top priority. “We want Indonesia to be a developed country, not just a developing country. We want to stand in the same standard as neighboring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and even Vietnam. “Parents who are working here in Sarawak must realise this.

That is why, we have developed many infrastructures such as the one in Entikong and many more projects coming up soon,” said Joko. Aside from that, Joko also handed over the ‘Kredit Usaha Rakyat’ (KUR) to three Indonesians during the session and said that the loan should not be used for ‘weird’ matters. “Use the money to start up something.

Don’t waste it on something that does not benefit yourself or your family. “It is a loaned money, so don’t forget to pay it every month. It’s interest rate is nine per cent, that is below one percent for each month in a year,” said Joko.
