KUCHING: Kuching City Hash, which has been established for nearly 30 years, will host the second Asia-Pacific Hash from 6th – 8th July 2018.
It will lure hashers from all over the world to attend this international hash event in Kuching, Sarawak.
The organising committee is headed by its Chairman, Johnson Tan who is currently actively engaged in its planning works and programme of staging this in-coming international hash event next year.
Yesterday its chairman, Johnson Tan and legal advisor, Datuk JC Fong led their Committee members to pay a courtesy visit to Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Youth and Sport to brief the minister on its progress and the overall programme of activities for the second Asia-Pacific Hash.
Accordingly to Tan, it has currently registered with around 1,400 participants through online registration and through series of promotions at local and overseas hash events.
Since Kuching City Hash has successfully hosted its Pan Asia Hash in 2005, it is time and again to hold another international hash event. It is targeting to involve between 2,500 and 3,000 participants.
This event is held in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of the club and it is also collaborating with the 2018 Sarawak World Music festival to be held at the following week, which will help to promote tourism in Sarawak, he added.
The organising chairman Johnson Tan also would like to extend his appreciation to the Sarawak government and other sponsors for their support in ensuring this event to be
held successfully in Kuching, Sarawak.
