KUCHING: Kuching FA team manager, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, said his side will appeal to the Malaysian Football Association (FAM) disciplinary committee on penalties and suspensions imposed on the team’s three key players recently.

According to Fazzrudin, he will send the letter of appeal in the nearest time and hope it will be taken into consideration accordingly.

“We will appeal to FAM for suspension and fines imposed on all three of them to be reduced,” said Fazzrudin when met at the Tupong Aidilfitri Open House at Balai Budaya, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Petra Jaya, here, recently.

He admitted that the team will undoubtedly suffer a blow in their two remaining matches in the FAM Cup campaign following the absence of three players.

Fazzrudin added that he had confidence in the reserves lineup players to take over the three positions.

“We have a lineup of players who can accommodate the lack of positioning,” said Fazzrudin again.

In the same development, Fazzrudin, who is also State Assemblyman N.6 Tupong is confident his team can afford to qualify for the quarter-finals despite being fifth in Group B.

By collecting 14 points from four wins, two draws and four defeats from 10 matches have been made so far.

“We must win the remaining two matches to ensure the slot into the quarter-finals,” Fazzrudin added.
