KUCHING: Heavy rain since yesterday caused a landslide at the backyard of a house in Kampung Tepoi, Tebedu, about 25km from here.
According to a statement from the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat, the soil movement brought down the back fence and caused a section of the house’s cement floor to crack.
“We received a report from the complainant Naig Paral, 44, this morning (yesterday) and rushed to the scene.
“What is more worrying is that the complainant’s house is near the river, (the possibility of it going down the bank looks real)” the spokesman said through the statement.
The relevant authorities, including the police had been informed, the statement said.
