KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Dr. James Masing Jemut who is also Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president, is puzzled as to why Larry Sng wants to stand in Julau when he is not even a local there.

According to him, it will be an uphill battle for Larry to topple the incumbent, Joseph Salang Gandum of BN-PRS in Julau.

“Why he wants to contest in Julau is best known to himself and his father, Datuk Sng Chee Hwa.

“What has caught my interest is that Larry’s office is just next to the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) office. I hope it’s just physical proximity, not the proximity of minds between Larry Sng and SPDP!” he added.

A former Pelagus state assemblyman and state assistant minister, Larry said the people in Julau wanted to see change.

His father, Dato Sng Chee Hua was MP of Julau from 1995 to 1999. He won the seat on the now defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS), then a BN component party.
