SIBU: Lions Club of Sibu Mandarin (LCSM) celebrated its 28th anniversary  and the 12th anniversary of its twinning with Lions Club of Bagan in Penang at Good Happiness Restaurant here on Sunday.

Speaking at the function, Governor of Lions Clubs International (LCI) District 308-A2, Pelly Lee called on the members of the Lions Clubs to focus in Lionism on ‘doing good’.

She said they should leave footprints of love and kindness wherever they go.

“Let us join our hands, work together and contribute our share of services to brighten other people’s days,” she said.

Pelly from Lions Club of KK Downtown, Sabah also called upon members to continue to uphold the motto, ”We Serve” to provide meaningful humanitarian services to the community.

“This is in line with the advice given by our Lions Club International president Dr Naresh Aggarwal who believes in ‘Namaste’ which means ‘The divine in me salutes the divine in you’.

Dr Naresh is a major gift donor and humanitarian partner of Lions Clubs International Foundation.

The event also witnessed LCSM giving RM1,000 each to three bodies, Sibu Kidney Foundation, Association of Children with Special Needs Sibu and St. John Ambulans Malaysia, Sibu.
