KUCHING: The Parent-Teacher Association of SMK St. Teresa here will hold a ‘Let’s Rebuild St. Teresa’ Grand Dinner 2018 on November 16, 2018 at the Colosseum, Level 2, Pullman Hotel, Kuching.
In a press release issued here yesterday, the school said that the event is held to raise funds for the rebuilding of the school hall which was burnt down on 29 October 2016.
The Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg, will grace the occasion for that night.
In the fire incident, the inferno destroyed the Assembly Hall, Staff Room, Library, Sewing Room, Living Skills Workshop, Music Room, Counselling Room, Surau, toilets and printing room.
The rebuilding of the new block will include the administration and classroom block (4 storeys) with an estimated cost of RM3,551,795. The multipurpose hall block (3 storeys) will cost an estimated RM4,675,596.40. The total estimated project is RM8,227,391.40.
The latest figure that the school managed to raise through its various fund-raising events (OTA, state government, SABATI, PIBG and the school activities) is RM3,290,559.44. It still lacks RM4,936,831.96.
