The support of LSC is not limited just to this championship but  also covers Miri Division Football Association (Miri FA) as a whole in support to the Miri FA development programme and Miri FA team.

Miri FA is scheduled to participate in the Stephen Rundi Under-16 Football Championship, Sarawak Cup Championship in Mukah as well as in organising  Class C Coachers Course.

Sebastian Ting thanked Lea Holdings Sdn Bhd for its sponsorship for the championship 2017 .

“This is the first time and I believe that with such sponsorship, interest of football in Miri will go up to another level. And this is what we hope for and I think we are going to achieve that,” he said.

Miri FA, he said, had been very active and they had been training the school children.

“In Miri we are very proud and happy to have two players in the President Team 2017, namely Amar Muaz bin Zamri Jersey and the other one is Filemon  Anyie Standly a striker who is from Long Atip, Miri.

Presently, we’re very happy to have two in the President Cup team 2017, he said, adding that both are under 19, very young and have great potential.

“I’m sure with the  league competition like this there will be more young people involved and we hope will raise the standard of football,” he said, adding that the league was endorsed by the Sarawak FA.

“I must say thank you to Raymond Sim for being very passionate about this and Lea Holdings active in promoting football throughout Sarawak.

“We hope our children will stay away from unhealthy activities and to be involved in this sport they will have the urge to give their best. Along the way we have to bring up personal development for the children. We want to inculcate good values in them.

Meanwhile, Raymond  Sim thanked FAS and also Miri Football Association for paying a lot of attention to football. In organising the tournaments a lot of sacrifices during the weekends because most of the games are during weekends so they sacrifice much of their families time to hold and attend all the tournaments.

“It is sometime that we really respect and hopefully this can bring out ome joy to Miri and actually to produce future stars. In sport we never know, everyone is a star as long as they work hard and  set a target and goal, I think they can do it. But to provide the platform is important,”  Raymond said.

According to Mohamad Saif Jubaidi, currently they are having an academy in Miri for the Under-12 and the other one is for the ladies.

“We are also doing collaboration with MNS for the Under 16. So next month we are sending a team  to the Datuk Stephen Rundi Cup Championship in Bintulu, he said.

“ We would like to say thank you to Lea Sports Centre for its sponsorship, not only for the tournament but for the academy also,” he said.
