MUKAH: Some 70 participants from eight local authorities in the central region namely the host Mukah and Dalat District Council, Kapit District Council, Meradong Julau District Council, Sibu Rural District Council, Serian District Council, Saratok District Council, Sarikei District Council and Matu Daro District Council attended a two-day ‘Workshop On Development of Local Key Result Areas” (LKRA 2 – Developing Green And Clean Mareket & LKRA7 – Clean and Functional Public Toilets) held at Kingwood Hotel Bandar Mukah which ended on Tuesday afternoon.
The 2-day workshop held from 14-15 August was organised by Mukah and Dalat District Council in collaboration with UiTM Mukah Campus.
The facilitators for the course were lecturers from UiTM Mukah Campus led by the Assistant Rector of the campus, Dr. Haji Saudi Haji Narani who was also the chief facilitator.
On the first day of the workshop the participants were exposed to topics on LKRA 2 (Developing Green and Clean Market) including the Setting Up of Smart Market Committee, Rain Water Harvesting System (Sistem Penuaian Air Hujan-SPAH), 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), Composting and Recycling Centre with the final session, a group presentation.
On the second and final day of the workshop the topic was on LKRA 7 (Developing Clean and Functional Public Toilets) which touched on Budget Management for the Development and Maintenance of Public Toilets, design of public toilets that suits local culture, setting up of Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for Public Toilets, development of awareness programme on the correct and proper usage of public toilets and star rating system for public toilets.
Present at the workshop were Walikota of Mukah and Dalat District Council, Haji Kadir Bin Haji Jamil, council secretary, Hajah Nurhalimah Bt Hamni, Councillors and local community leaders.
Officiating at the opening and closing of the workshop was Walikota Haji Kadir.
