MIRI: The driver of a luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) had a terrifying moment on Saturday evening when the vehicle suddenly burst into flames. Fortunately, he managed to rush out of the vehicle safely.
The incident happened near a shopping mall at Pujut Road here. A team of seven firemen from the Miri Bomba was despatched to the location after responding to an emergency call on the incident at 7.12 pm. According to sources, the vehicle was heading towards the city from Permyjaya when it suddenly burst into flames.
Upon noticing that something was not right, the driver immediately pulled over and rushed out of the vehicle. Moments later, the flames engulfed the front part of the vehicle. When fire-fighters arrived, the flames had already destroyed the front part of the vehicle.
The actual cause of the incident has yet to be known and investigations are underway.
