KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr ) Abang Johari Tun Datuk Ab a n g Openg yesterday disagreed and ‘begged to di ffer ’ with an opinion stated by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia regarding the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“I beg to differ with what people have been talking about in regards to MA63,” he told reporters at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Kuching. The MA63 just cannot not be assumed as not important as it documents the rights of Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia which act as the basis of the agreement, Johari added.

“I don’t agree with what has been said by Pandikar Amin regarding the Malaysia Agreement. “ I f anyone s a y s that it (MA63) is not important, then it is’ true,” he said after attending the convocation ceremony of Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) and International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS).
