Man attempts to attack uncle arrested

MIRI: A 44-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to attack his uncle with a parang (machete) at the entrance of his uncle’s orchard in Niah at 9am on Wednesday.

The 60-year-old victim was fortunate to escape unhurt from the scene.

However, the front section of his 4WD vehicle was damaged.

It was said that prior to the incident, the victim had spotted the suspect damaging him orchard’s gate.

He then pulled over and asked the suspect to stop.

However, the suspect walked to his vehicle and took out a parang (machete) and brandished it towards the victim (his uncle).

Following a report lodged, police arrested the suspect on Thursday at 4.20pm and seized the parang used to threaten his uncle.
