MIRI: A man in his 50s cheated death after the car he was travelling in crashed into an excavator at Jalan Kuala Baram Bypss here yesterday afternoon. The incident occur red at around 12.30pm while the victim was alone and heading to the city centre from Kuala Baram when the vehicle suddenly went out of control before ramming the rear of the excavator at the road shoulder.
“As a result of the collision, the victim sustained head and leg injuries while the front section of his car is badly damaged,” sources said. The victim was later taken to Miri Hospital for treatment via an ambulance. Traffic police personnel were also at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
