SIBU: The body of a teenage boy, believed to be a student, was found drifting in the Batang Igan near Kampung Bungan Kecil, Dalat around 10.40 am yesterday.
Sibu District Police Chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the body, which was tied near a ‘rumbia’ factory, was discovered by members of the public.
“Based on the school uniform, the deceased is believed to be a secondary school student,” he explained.
ACP Stanley said this when contacted by reporters here yesterday.
He said the Marine police was contacted for assistance to help transfer the body from at the discovery location to the Sibu Hospital.
“The deceased’s family has been informed of the incident,” he said.
ACP Stanley said the case is being investigated.
