MIRI: A man was shocked to find a 1.5 metre-long cobra in the garden of his house at Jalan Palma RPR Batu 6 here last Saturday afternoon.
The man came across the snake while cutting grass at the back of his house.
Fearing that the cobra might enter his house, he quickly called the Civil Defence Force here for help.
An officer of the force, Captain Mohd Hazle Shah Abdul Hamid confirmed receiving a call about the cobra at about 5.20pm.
He said two personnel were immediately sent to catch the cobra.
“When they arrived at the location, the men found that the snake was still hiding in the bushes.
“They managed to catch the snake within 20 minutes with the help of a special equipment. The operation ended at about 6pm,” added Mohd in his press release.
“The cobra was later brought back to the Civil Defence Force office for further action,” he said.
