KUCHING: A man was found dead at Song Kheng Hai Rugby Field here yesterday morning.

Kuching Police District chief, ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai said the victim, Boon Voon Sing, 51, who stayed at the KMC Flat at Jalan Ban Hock, was found lying motionless on a bench by a cleaner who alerted the police at 8.40am.

He said initial investigation revealed that no physical injuries were found on the body.

“Several pills were found near the victim and they were later confirmed as vitamin and supplement pills by medical officers from the Sarawak General Hospital,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Abang Ahmad said the case was classified as sudden death and the body was taken to the hospital for a post mortem.

Meanwhile a lecturer lodged a police report after his car was broken into recently.

The 29-year-old victim from Kelantan said the incident occurred in front of the State Library in Petra Jaya when he returned to retrieve his car and saw the smashed front and rear windscreens.

Upon checking the car, he found RM400, USD20 and personal documents were missing.
