BELURU (MARUDI): A 58-year-old man from Rumah Edward Usah, Sungai Sebindang, Bok Tinjar who was reported missing  Monday night has been found alive and well.

This was confirmed by Baram Police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut via a Whatapps on Wednesday night.

He added that the man identified as Bengkong Buntak was spotted by the longhouse residents swimming across Sungai Sebindang towards the longhouse around 6pm on Wednesday.

“The longhouse residents then immediately alerted members of the Search and Rescue (SAR) team who was at that time just about to discontinue the operation as darkness has fallen,” Gabriel said.

According to Bengkong’s daughter, Winnie, her father did not sustain any injury except some mosquito bites.

Winnie added that during his ‘missing’ period, her father had taken shelter in an empty hut before he managed to find his way home.

The New Sarawak Tribune was made to understand that the family would bring Bengkong to a clinic here for a medical check-up.
