Man robs 24-hour convenient store

KUCHING: A 24-hour convenient store at Jalan Satok here was robbed around 5am on Wednesday.

The female cashier, 35, reported that a man wearing a full face helmet came into the shop armed with a sumurai sword.

Fearing for her life, she opened the cash register and handed him all the money in it. It is not known how much cash was handed over but the man also took away four cartoons of cigarettes valued at RM353.

In another case at Jalan Segamat, a storekeeper lodged a report that his working place was broken into on Wednesday morning. Among the stolen items were a bicycle, a lorry battery and a forklift batter.

Thieves had broken into the store through the back fence and door.

Meanwhile, a woman had her handbag snatched at Tabuan Tranquility, Jalan Canna while she was having supper at a shop there around 2am Wednesday.

Among the items in her handbag were her personal documents and a samsung mobile phone.

Police are investigating all the three cases.
