KUCHING: For a peaceful and progressive Sarawak, the people must count their blessings and must have faith and support the current leaders.

Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk James Chan said that in this New Year and in future the people must continue to stay strong and united regardless of race and religion.

“We must always maintain peace, stability and unity, for not only today but for our future generations,” he said.

Chan said such peace and harmony could only come with a stable government and dynamic leaders of the present team.

“Life is about give and take. When people are united with the government, Sarawak will certainly prosper and Kuching City will grow to be one of the most livable cities in the near future,” he said.

He said therefore the people must uphold whatever they have be it in terms of cleanliness, green, healthy environment, peace and stability to move Kuching City forward for the betterment of the people.
