KUALA LUMPUR: The migration from prepaid to postpaid is expected to continue at a fast pace, but there is still a niche for prepaid customers, said Maxis Head of Consumer Business, Dushyan Vaithiyanathan.

He said the shift had been going on rapidly in the past 18 months as postpaid plans are getting more attractive.

“In terms of performance, Hotlink is recovering and we are optimistic of meeting our expectations in the fourth quarter (Q4),” he said after the launch of the new Hotlink rewards offer here yesterday.

Hotlink has also introduced a postpaid flex plan that would assist the migration from prepaid to postpaid.

In the Q3FY18, Maxis recorded revenue of RM2.02 billion which was three per cent lower than that of Q3FY17, mainly due to the decline in the prepaid segment, which offset growth in the postpaid and home fibre
business.

Meanwhile, Dushyan said the new Hotlink reward programme is based solely on the attraction with the application to collect easy points. – Bernama

“We currently have more than 160 merchants on the reward programme and by being active on the application, even without spending any money, users stand a chance to redeem flight tickets, food and beverages as well as online shopping,” he added.

Among the partners for the application are Agoda, Zalora, Shopee, Expedia, Fave and Easybook.

The Hotlink RED application can be downloaded from Google Play or Apple Store and for more information, users can check out www.hotlink.com.my/hotlinkrewards. –Bernama
