MIRI: Miri FA revived their hopes to be among the top two teams in Group D of the National Level People’s Football League (LBR) 2017/2018 after the team led by Mohamad Hakimi Man’s defeated Keningau FA with 3-1 in a match held at Padang KRP, Lutong, Miri on Sunday. Miri FA now amassed three points from three games after losing their two previous matches.

“It’s a relief when we get the winning streak that led to the three points,” said Miri Division Football Association president, Mohd Saif Jubaidi.

The three goals were scored by Hadera Bakeri in the 57th and 82nd minutes and Paul Sambang in the 91st minute. Keningau FA’s goal was scored in the 39th minute. Mohamad Saif hoped that the performance of his players will continue for the rest of the second round matches.

For the second leg, Miri FA will take on Tawau at the Main Stadium of Tawau FA Sports Complex on Feb 24. Meanwhile, a Sarawak representative, Gedong Gators (Kuching FA) lost 0-1 to Tawau FA.
