KUCHING: A man who went missing in the jungle at Kpg Simpok, Padawan after looking for ferns on Thursday morning with his wife had been found safe.

The 36-year-old reportedly returned to the jungle after accompanying his wife back at about noon. He was said to have a handphone but the wife failed to contact him when he was still not home at dusk.

At 9 pm, the wife sought the help of the villagers to search for her husband.

Police were informed and firemen organised a search and rescue (SAR) operation which continued until the victim was found lying in the forest in a state of weakness at about 4 am.

He was brought out on a stretcher and was hospitalised but he refused to be admitted and asked to go home.
