MIRI: A motorcyclist died as a result of a head-on-collision with a six-wheel lorry at Jalan Taman Fu Tee yesterday morning.

The fatal crash reportedly happened around 7am.

According to the city Police Chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah, the deceased identified as Steven Unji Tangau, 26, was on the way to his work place at Taman Fu Tee prior to the incident.

“The deceased, riding alone, was coming from the Bukit Song direction; the collision occurred after he entered the Jalan Taman Fu Tee,” said ACP Lim.

Police investigation revealed that Steven’s motorcycle suddenly went out of control and veered off the road before crashing onto the moving lorry.

Steven was immediately transported to Miri Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
