MIRI: A teenager on a motorcycle sustained injuries after getting involved in an accident with a car at Jalan Lambir in Miri, on Monday afternoon.

The accident at about 5pm was believed to have occurred when a Perodua Bezza car rammed into the hind of the victim’s motorcycle.

Such impact caused the victim to be thrown down to the roadside and suffered injuries on his head and body.

The 18-year-old victim was then sent to Miri Hospital with the assistance of the Malaysian Civil Defence Forces (APM) of Miri District for further treatment.

District Civil Defence Force Officer Capt. Mohd Hazle Shah Abdul Hamid said his team rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call regarding the incident.

“Three APM personnel who arrived at the scene provided emergency medical treatment to victim before sending him to the Miri hospital,” Hazle said.

He said the car driver escaped from any injury.

According to him, the accident happened when the victim was said to be on his way home and was hit by the car when he wanted to turn into a junction.
