MIRI: A man believed to have been involved in motorcycle stolen cases in the district was arrested by police at Jalan Palma 12, RPR Batu 6 here yesterday.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested by a team from Miri Central Police Ronda Crime (RCJ) at about 5pm yesterday.

Deputy local police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted confirmed the arrest.

He said police also found a stolen motorcycle frame thrown in the bush at the Batu 6 RPR cemetery after being shown by the suspect.

“Based on the preliminary investigation the suspect claimed to have stolen four motorcycles around this area.

“The suspect also admitted that the stolen motorcycles were be sold in oil palm estates through the middlemen and for their own use too,” he said here.

Stanley said the suspect, who was also believed to be a drug addict, was now detained at the police station for further investigation

The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
