MPC’s Team Excellence programme can save cost

KUCHING: Through the Team Excellence programme conducted by Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) a total of RM468,719 was able to be saved.

According to Deputy State Secretary, Datu Dr Sabariah Putit the programme has proven its ability in decreasing cost and time while at the same time elevating the quality of products and services provided by government departments and its agencies.

The Team Excellence programme has a total 150 participants and observers. Ten teams from ten different organisations shared each of their products undertaken through innovation.

“This proves that we have the capability to move forward to the digital economy as envisioned by our Chief Minister through talents, educational institutions, incubators, mentors, dynamic leadership and so on,” she said in her speech during the Team Excellence Mini Convention (Sarawak Chapter) held at MPC headquarters here, yesterday.

She added that all government staff in the state need to provide full support to Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg’s aspirations for the digital economy era as RM1 billion has been allocated to develop ICT infrastructure facilities throughout the state.

“For the next five years, this is our focus. Hence, I urge each department and agency to adopt programme such as Team Excellence as it will invoke the culture of innovation among civil servants and the community at large,” Sabariah said.
