MUKAH: The annual Melanau ethnic annual festival,  Mukah Kaul Festival 2018, will be held from April 23 to 29.

The date was fixed during a meeting chaired by Balingian State Assemblyman and Mukah Melanau Association (MMA) Chairman, Abdul Yakub Haji Arbi,  at Menara Pehin Setia Raja here recently.

Also present   were Mukah Division Acting Resident, Safrie Saili, Temenggong Haji Hendi Haji Suhai, heads of departments, local community leaders and the exco members of MMA.

The festival will be staged at Taman Kala Dana,   located about five minute’ drive from the Mukah Town centre.

The  major crowd pulling programme will kick off with Kaul Serahang Kakan to be staged at the delta or  Tugek of Kala Dana Beach on Saturday (April 21).

Also present at the meeting were Mukah Division Acting Resident, Safrie Saili, Temenggong Haji Hendi Haji Suhai, heads of departments, local community leaders and the exco members of MMA.

Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg, is expected to officiate at the opening ceremony  on April 28 while the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud will close it the next day.
